Professional training: Steve qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, passing all exams at the first attempt.

Career in business: After qualifying, he climbed the corporate ladder, gaining experience in manufacturing, distribution and finance industries with blue chip companies including GKN, Courtaulds & Lloyds TSB.

His experience encompasses all aspects of financial management. He organised an MBO, several acquisitions, IT implementations and cost reduction programmes.

Academic prowess: To enhance his management skills, he took an MBA with the Open University, graduating in 2001.

Finance Director: He has held several full time CFO roles. In the most recent, he took a start-up food manufacturer to European market leadership with a turnover of £30m in 5 years.

Portfolio career: Since 2006, he has been working for a range of businesses on a portfolio basis. Key achievements on behalf of his clients have included:-

- Raising £14m of private equity capital.
- Managing 125% growth in two years while reducing administrative overheads and tax bills.
- Turning a charity around from the edge of insolvency to a prosperous future
- Installing IT systems in several different companies.

Personal life: Steve lives in Solihull & is married with two teenage children. In his spare time he enjoys squash and is Chair of a school board.
